Racing through the streets of New York in his completely stock 1975 Buick Regal, Kojak brought glamour to two unexpected places. First, it made bald Telly Savalas a star and matinee idol. Even more unexpected, it gave glamour to all the mid-size GM cars, so much so that even today they are referred to as “Kojak” cars.
