Horch, the luxury car division of Auto Union AG, owned 55% of this market. With technological features like 4-wheel brakes, safety glass, and hydraulic shock absorbers, Horch was decades ahead of its time. Unfortunately, the Horch factory was located in the eastern part of Germany and was overrun and dismantled by the advancing Russian army in the last days of WWII.

Created at the demand of the German government as a chauffer-driven car for diplomats and generals. It was powered by a straight-8 100 horsepower engine and featured tri-front headlights, double side spares, and two folding jump seats, so it could transport 8.
