1912 Ford Hershey's Delivery Wagon
The Car That Delivers the Goods!

Stronger Than An Army Mule and Cheaper Than a Team of Horses Henry Ford was reluctant to get into the truck business. After an unsuccessful effort in 1905, he waited until 1912 to try again. This time he spent two years testing the product through Bell Telephone and the Wanamaker Department Store. The results were excellent and Ford put the Delivery Car on the market in 1912. Almost 2,000 were sold at $700. It featured a wood body, two swing out back doors, and the same 22 horsepower 4-cylinder engine used by Ford cars.

Fully Authorized Logo’s and Insignia’s To represent the 1912 Delivery Car we have selected two companies whose histories trace to the late 19th century. Milton Hershey, called the “Henry Ford of Chocolate” because he made chocolate affordable for the masses, started his Hershey Chocolate Company in 1894. Joseph Campbell and his partner Abraham Anderson started the first Campbell’s company in 1896. The next year, their chemist Dr. John Dorrance, invented condensed soup and by 1904 Campbell had 21 varieties, all for a dime. These two 1:24 scale replicas of the 1912 Ford Model T Delivery Car, with Tampo graphics and baked enamel finish, look just as good as the originals did in an era when consumers expected home delivery for just about everything.
