Watch the Fords Go By Bob Gregorie, Ford's head stylist restyled the line drastically for 1940, with 22 advertised improvements, including sealed beam headlights and a new dashboard. There were two areas, however, that he was wise enough to let alone. The engine remained the "Greatest Engine in the Low-Priced Field", as Ford advertised the ever-efficient 85 horsepower 221 cubic inch V-8. And the front retained its "grinning" grille design.Over 540,000 new Fords were sold in 1940 so Ford's slogan held true: anywhere in the U.S. you could "Watch the Fords Go By".

Deluxe Coupe and Pick Up Lead the Way Both of these 1:24 scale beauties have all the details collectors love. The Deluxe Coupe, a bargain in 1940 for $748, has opening doors, hood and trunk, and even tufted look upholstery.
