1936 Mercedes-Benz® 500K Special Roadster

Daimler-Benz Celebrates Its First Fifty Years Karl Benz received the first patent in January 1886 for a “vehicle with gas engine drive’. By 1936, the Mercedes-Benz had earned its reputation for quality, performance and dependability. To observe the 50th Anniversary of car manufacturing, in 1936 Daimler-Benz inaugurated its first automobile museum. The centerpiece of this museum was the top of the line 500K Special Roadster.

The Special Roadster was just that. Built by the finest coach makers in Europe, Erdmann-Rossi, and featuring a new engine designed by Hans Nibel, the 500K was filled with unique features. With its 4-wheel independent suspension and new Supercharged 8 Cylinder OHV engine, the Special Roadster was built not only for comfort, but to give the highest technical performance possible. In 1936, the car was priced at an amazing Depression-era $10,780, and today, the few that remain are among the costliest collectors cars ever made.

Precision Made From Manufacturer's Specifications Our 1:18 scale replica is constructed of heavy die-cast metal and has all the singular features of the original- working doors and rumble seat, independent spring suspension, detailed interior, working steering system, and a bifold hood that reveals an engine so accurate that it even includes the wiring.
