Nanuet Fire Department
Ward LaFrance Open Cab Pumper
The Nanuet Fire Engine Company was originally founded on December 18, 1860 and received its charter in 1862. Located in Rockland County, New York, the fire company now has more than 100 members and this year celebrates its 150th anniversary!
The Ward LaFrance Truck Company was founded in 1916, and has made trucks for every industry you can think of. But they will always be associated with their fire engines, filled with distinctive features such as optional fender skirts, elaborate grills, and ultra-vision cabs. Ward LaFrance made fire apparatus into an art form, and First Gear has produced an exquisitely detailed reproduction.
