T-6G Texan
Trained Over 100,000 Pilots
In its incredible 58 year career from 1938 to 1996, the T-6G Texan (originally called the AT-6) advanced trainer was used by 34 countries and trained over 100,000 pilots. North American Aviation built 17,096 during this period. Powered by a 600hp. Pratt and Whitney engine, the Texan could be equipped with a .30 machine gun. Besides training, the T-6G was also used as a spotter, interceptor, fighter and even a bomber. This specific Texan was used by the Italian Air Force in the 1950’s.
