Pratt and Whitney 14-cylinder engines, its weaponry was 3 or 4 machine guns plus up to 4000lbs. of bombs or depth charges. Its 2350 mile range was especially suited for the Pacific. 10 Navy squadrons had flat black painted Catalinas for nighttime strike missions.
