The 7hp. Twin 5D, with its beefed-up bottom end, sold for $325 1928 JDH This Twin Cam 1200cc 29 hp. beauty answered the need for bigger and faster motorcycles. It established Harley-Davidson as the pioneer Hog. 1952 K Most radically new Harley ever. This flathead replaced the 3-speed hand shift with 4-speed foot shift. One of the sportiest Harleys's ever made. 1953 Hydra-Glide To combat the growing number of imports, Harley developed the Hydra-Glide front fork. It had 55 hp., a smooth ride, and a contemporary look. 1958 Duo-Glide The Duo-Glide added rear wheel suspension to the Hydra-Glide. By now, foot shifters were outselling hand shifter. 1966 FLH Electra Glide This top of the line bike sold almost 8,000 I n 1966. Called the Shovelhead because of the new cylinder heads which were needed to power this heavier and bigger Electra Glide.
