The Most Famous Inter-City Coach Greyhound® Flxible Clipper A Truly Flexible Company The Flxible Company was started in 1912 by Hugo Young building sidecars with “flexible” connections to the motorcycle. By the mid-1920s, they had branched out to hearses, ambulances and buses. The 29-passenger Clipper, powered by a modified straight-8 Buick engine, was developed for inter-city use. At one time over 5,000 Clippers were in operation including 20 delivered to the Pennsylvania Greyhound Company for use in Cleveland and Pitt burgh.
