Birney Safety Car - 1:48 Scale

Safe and Economical Birney Safety Car So Good They Came Back For More In May of 1920, United Railways and Electric (later renamed Baltimore Transit) purchased 33 Birney Safety Cars from the J.G. Brill Company, the largest trolley-maker in the East. The name Birney refers to a trolley that could be operated by a single driver/conductor. The “Safety” designation was given because these trolleys were equipped with a “kill” button that could stop them instantly. The Birneys proved so economical and reliable that 32 more were ordered in 1921. Model Features • Precision DieCast Replica • 1:48 Scale Model • 7 Inches Long
