Street Version - Track Ready1997 Mercedes-AMG CLK-GTRNot Your Average Sports Car
Mercedes-AMG was charged with creating an extreme racing car that still maintained some elements of a normal street legal car. AMG's designers created a car which shared some design elements with the Mercedes-Benz CLK, yet had all the standard features of a racing car underneath. Producing over 600 horsepower, this engineering and design marvel was ready to compete with Porsche and Ferrari. After a slow start in the 1997 FIA GT Championship Series, the CLK-GTR won six races and took the team and driver championship.
