Its Ponytime!
1964.5 Ford Mustang
The Beginning of Mustang Mania
There was nothing Ford C.E.O. Lee Iococca liked better than a flashy mid-year introduction. Using the N.Y. Worlds Fair as a backdrop, Iacocca caught the automobile world off-guard and won the hearts of the American public on April 17, 1964 with the introduction of the Mustang. This long-hooded short-deck pony car almost immediately sold out its entire 100,000 production run. With its short 108" wheel base and 101 horsepower engine, it was a sport compact with youth appeal, costing about half of its rival Corvette. Our exclusive 1:32 scale precision die-cast replica, with the original galloping pony crest, will bring back the excitement we all felt over 40 years ago at the beginning of Mustang Mania.
