1963 Seagrave Pumper
Seagrave is Shippensburgs Choice
The Vigilant Hose Company, Shippensburgs oldest, bought their first Seagrave pumper in 1931. In 1963 they purchased a Seagrave 70th Anniversary pumper. Painted in Vigilants distinctive cream-over-red colors, the pumper has a 750 gallon per minute capacity and was originally powered by a 350 horsepower 6-cylinder Waukesha gas engine. Replaced in 1981, Vigilant reacquired it for parade use in 2002.
