The “Fin”-ish of an Era 1961 Chrysler Imperial Crown Convertible Virgil Exners Last Imperial Virgil Exners era as head designer for Chrysler ended in 1961. The Imperial Crown Convertible is one of the most spectacular cars of this era. It features Exners classic-look free-standing quad headlights, floating gun-site taillights, horizontal bar grille and the last of the big tailfins. It was the only Imperial convertible made for 1961. 429 were produced selling for $5776.
