For years a major supplier in the bus industry, by 1961 GM dominated bus sales as many competitors went out of business. Aided by the great expansion of the U.S. highway system, GM built 22,000 of these between 1959 and 1977. With its most remarkable feature being the big curved front window, the New Look buses are known today by their nickname, “Fishbowl”.
