The Perfect Low-Priced Car
1960 Chevrolet® Impala Convertible
America Loves a More Conservative Look
As the styling yo-yo went up and down, the 1960's proved to be the opposite of the 1950's. Gone were the excesses of huge fins and wild two and three-tone paint jobs. More subdued metallic colors were in and fins disappeared. For 1960 Chevrolet reduced the small horizontal fins of 1959 but kept the white stripe in the rear quarter. The cat's eye taillights were gone too, replaced by double taillights with the brake light in between. The public loved the new styling and with production of over 1.6 million Chevrolet retained their #1 sales position and had their best year since 1955.
The Best Convertible Sales Year
Although Chevrolet had only one full-size convertible, the Impala, its sales of almost 80,000 were remarkable. Precision engineered to GM specifications, our 1:18 scale die-cast replica features the optional (for $107 more) 283 cubic-inch V-8 engine. Dressy from stem to stern, at $2954 this 1960 Impala Convertible has been called by experts the perfect low-priced car.
