The Flagship of the Forward Look 1955 Imperial Sheriff's Car Chrysler Corporations Best Year Ever Virgil Exner's “Forward Look” styling was unveiled in 1955 and brought Chrysler its best sales year ever. Gone was the box-on-box styling, replaced by the fighter jet on wheels “Forward Look”. Imperial was given its own marquee this year, no longer part of the Chrysler line. The 2-door hardtop sold for $4720 and 3418 were produced including this one for the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
