50th Anniversary Celebration 1953 Ford™ Crestline Sunliner The Golden Jubilee Celebration 1953 was a banner year for Ford in every way. Sales of 1,247,542 units were the highest since 1929. Although everyones prices went up due to inflation, Fords rise was small which put a lot of pressure on the independent makers hastening their demise later in the decade. Styling was not too different from 1952 except for the slim crossbar on the bullet-style grille. The major technological advancement for the convertible was Fords first electric top. A 1953 Sunliner was the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500.
