1952 Nash Ambassador Airflyte The Midas Touch 1952 was the Golden Anniversary of the first Nash automobile, and the 1952 Nash Ambassador Airflyte did not disappoint. Designed in part by famed Italian Pinin Farina, the redesigned 1952 Nash featured 'Airflex' suspension, earning praise for 'the finest shock-proof ride in the world'. 'Eye-Level Visibility', 'Road-Guide' fenders and a 'Super Jetfire' overhead-valve six-cylinder engine were also featured. The windshield was 44% larger than in previous models, and with an overall width of 78 inches the Ambassador had plenty of elbow room. Ambassador buyers could also choose a fully-reclining front seat that converted to 'Twin Travel Beds' capable of sleeping two adults, a popular feature that also earned the dubious title of 'make-out car of choice' for 1950s teenagers.
