The Fleetline Aerosedan went out with a bang setting its sales record with 211,861 produced, making it by far the best selling Chevrolet model of 1948. It was a favorite of highway patrols and police forces because all the speed lines made it look fast although the Stovebolt Six engine was more dependable than speedy. At least the rear had surprisingly good headroom despite the fastback design.
