Correctly figuring luxury cars like Pierce-Arrow and Duesenberg would not survive, Lincoln developed the new luxurious “KB series featuring a massive 447 cubic inch V-12 engine and enormous 145-inch wheelbase. Weighing well over 2 tons, costing more than the average house and with bodies built by the great coach makers at the Walter Murphy Co., only 30 Sport Phaetons and 3 Sport Roadsters were produced in 1932, but they helped Lincoln gain its place as one of Americas premier luxury auto marques.
