The Little Deuce Coupe
There have been three cars that over the years have symbolized hot rods and customizing. Two of them are the 1949 Mercury Lead Sled (the James Dean car) and the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. But the all-time favorite, and the only one to have a Beach boys song, is the 1932 Ford Coupe, the Little Deuce Coupe. When Henry Ford completely skipped over the 6-cylinder engine and created the Flathead V-8 in 1932, teenagers all over America went car crazy. For the next 75 years, 1932 Fords with wild paint jobs, flame decals, special hubcaps and chromed engin"walk a Thunderbird like it's standin' still".
