The Great American Value
1932 Chevrolet Deluxe 5-Window Coupe
Chevrolet Still #1
Even though the Depression cut sales in half compared to 1931, Chevrolet retained their spot as the bestselling car in America, beating Ford for the second straight year. In fact, only Chevrolet and Nash made a profit in 1932. Despite the sales slump, the 1932 Chevrolet has been called the finest styled auto of the classic school of design. The 5-Window Deluxe Coupe, which sold for $505, is a perfect example of a classic coupe. Its' heavily chromed front-end includes twin-trumpet horns. The hood ports gave it a beefier look. Twin side mounted spares and wire wheels added a sporty touch. Under the hood, the 194 cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine now featured synchromesh transmission.
