Hand-Made Tin Replica

1928 Ford 5-AT Tri-Motor Plane - 1:40 Scale

1928 Ford 5-AT Tri-Motor Plane The Tin Goose William Stout, inventor and aircraft builder, sent a letter to, among others, Edsel Ford in 1923, saying send me $1000 and I'll try to develop a plane. The only promise he made was that he would cash the check. Both Edsel and his father Henry invested and by 1925 Stout's planes were part of the Ford empire. 199 of these “Tin Gooses” (they were actually aluminum) were built between 1925 and 1933, used by both military and commercial carriers. It's all-metal construction and 3 Pratt and Whitney 420 horsepower radial engines were revolutionary for its time. The 5-AT carried a crew of 3 and up to 8 passengers. Admiral Byrd's first flight over the South Pole was in a Tin Goose. Features • 1:40 Scale • Rolling Wheels • Spinning Propellers • Hand-Made Tin Replica • 20" Long with 23" Wingspan
